Shih Tzu
The Shih Tzu is an attentive, energetic, little dog that is full of joy, resilience, and character. The loyal, gentle Shih Tzu is easily sociable and responds well to constant, patient training. The breed makes a very vigilant watchdog through its courage and brains. Playful and courageous, this loving little dog loves the company of people and is typically good with other pets too. It needs daily walks to burn physical and mental energy. With improvement in its temperament, you will witness the sweet, trustworthy dog in it. The Shih Tzu is ideal for apartment living. These dogs will do okay without a yard as they are fairly active indoors. They are sensitive to heat and need a daily walk. For exercise, daily play will take care of it. Even so, similar to other breeds, play alone will not support its primal walking instinct. The Shih Tzu enjoys a good adventure in a safe open space off lead, which can be a wide, fenced-in yard. It sheds little to no hair, hence is ideal for those with allergies.
Bichon Frise
The Bichon is a tiny, furry white dog that loves the company of people. It is incredibly independent, brainy, loving, bold, and full of life. This gentle, charming dog is not a yapper. It has a happy, self-assured temperament that is easy to deal with. These little dogs are bright and easy to train while simply loving everyone. They will be happy when surrounded by people. Naturally, Rumand are sociable and happiest when they are part of a family that brings them anywhere. This sociable trait also means that they do great in the company of other dogs and pets as well as children. With enough exercise, the Bichon Frise can live in an apartment and they are fairly active indoors so those without a yard will do just fine.
