DESCRIPTION:
The Havanese breed is a short-legged small dog. The strong canine is full of life and is constantly seen with a gentle appearance. Being a smooth-coated breed, their adult coat can grow from 6 to 8 inches with a pearly sheen. Their nose, eye rims, and lips are usually black except for true chocolate dogs. The Havanese can come in an assortment of colors including white, cream, black, silver, gold, and blue. They are usually joyful and active dogs and typically have a cheerful and unique disposition.
BREED TEMPERAMENT:
Havanese dogs are a very playful breed. They are great at showing affection and do especially well around children. The breed seeks a great deal of affection and positive reinforcement which can make them very protective of their family. These dogs are extremely observant making them an easy breed to obedience train. It is not in the nature of these dogs to bark often, but they can be easily trained to stop if they pick up the habit. Overall, this breed is one that is highly observant of every tone and gesture used. With proper training and affection, the Havanese makes a great family pet.

LIVING CONDITIONS:
Havanese dogs make great apartment dogs as they become very active indoors, therefore, the need for large spaces is lessened. These dogs do require plenty of exercise and daily walks.
